Hari Raya Aidil Adha celebrations

My house was alive with activities this Aidil adha, despite the fact that Miki was in hospital because of his ear problem. It has been our family tradition to have a feast of our best dishes as the menu on Hari raya day, be it hari raya puasa or Hari raya korban. So this raya it is no different. I have to cook something special for my beloved family and friends to savour, on this special day. Frankly speaking,this year I did not have the mood to celebrate, but I felt I am not doing justice to my self and my children if I fail to put on the table our traditional menu which I know my family and friends will enjoy.

This year I join 6 other friends to slaughter a cow at Masjid Telipot, symbolizing the sacrifice which Prophet Ibrahim A.S did when he sacrificed his son Ismail, in God's name.

I had been wanting to make strawberrry triffle for quite sometimes but never got down to doing it, until I mentioned it to my two grand daughters Kuya and Kuyana.They immediately told me that they will help me..So here is the result of their wonderful talent in the kitchen. What do you think?.

The Kelantanese are well known for their enterprising business spirits. They will take their business anywhere and at any time, regardless of the weather. These snapshots shows the stalls that sprout up immediately as the water level rises at the sultan's pier in Kota Bharu. People came out to see the water...that is another interesting feature of the Kelantanese......they like to watch the flood and play in the flood water and do not care about the danger.....
