I was driving yesterday and such a masterpiece work of art lay in front of my eyes. I had to pull over and although I had my camera with me, I could not even take the photo. It was one of those times when not even a photo would do it justice. This happens once in a while, although most of the times I grab the camera and try to put in on paper as best as I can. Nothing is like seeing it with the naked eye. I am so blessed and fortunate that I love photography and have a passion for it. I have been taking photos most of my life and most everyone knows me with a black box in front of my face. These photos today are long overdo for me to share with you. I lvoe the fall and every year I think this one is the best EVER! I think it is the way I appreciate nature and God's masterpiece that I have learned to appreciate more and more the older I get. God needs our full attention to the beauty He has given us. It is a wonderful gift and a truly wonderful masterpiece.

Powered by Photoblog.com

I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths
for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I fear no evil;
for You are with me;
your rod and your staff-
they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy
shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the
house of the LORD
my whole life long.

Charlotte L. Riser

When the trees their summer splendor
Change to raiment red and gold,
When the summer moon turns mellow,
And the nights are getting cold;
When the squirrels hide their acorns,
And the woodchucks disappear;
Then we know that it is autumn,
Loveliest season of the year.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

This mornings' sunrise did just that...it took my breath away. I woke in time to see it and hoped everyone was out to see it as well. If you missed it......HERE IT IS IN ALL IT'S GLORY!!!

(1 John 3:17 amp)

If we see needs and do not respond, a window in our hearts closes. A little less light and fresh air are granted entrance and a little more shadow creeps in. Please understand, I know you cannot respond to every need you see in a financial way, nor should you. But there are many needs we can respond to—and it’s time to do so.

When we commit to move beyond turning away or just feeling saddened, somehow the Holy Spirit causes us to “see” or take special notice of the needs we have the power to respond to. Some of these needs will be require the giving of this world’s goods. As a portion of what is in our hands or household is transferred into theirs.

Nothing given is ever lost. It is just relocated. The “world’s goods” refers to the produce or substance of the good of this earth that we move from one place to another. Somehow this earthly transfer works a spiritual transformation. The temporal redistribution releases the human heart to experience compassion and nurture that is constructive.

With love,

By noon, however, the clean white slate had melted to an icy mess. It was around this time that my mom and I ventured out, traveling a good ten miles below the speed limit to avoid an unwanted encounter with black ice. We reached the grocery store and, like the rest of the city, proceeded to stock up on nonperishables. As we made our way to the check-out, I heard a snippet of conversation. An employee led a man down an aisle. The man was dressed in layers, covered with a significant amount of grime, and his shoes were tattered - decidedly homeless. The employee's voice carried to where we stood: "We have some socks down this way."

Her kindness inspired me, for I knew she would not make this man pay. I offered to let the customer behind me, who had fewer items, go ahead. He accepted and I was happy with my small kindness. My mom and I waited and just as our items moved up the band, the employee returned. Her badge marked her as a manager, but she started bagging our items and explained that they were short-staffed because of the ice. She told us that she, too, was late to work, because her son convinced her to pick up a man on the side of the road, who claimed his car was broken down and he needed a ride home. She could smell the alcohol on his breath and worried about the danger, but her son asked her quietly, "What if I were the one stranded in the cold?" That question was enough.

Whenever my faith in humanity is shaken, the woman and her son come back to me, and I know that beauty is everywhere.

Majestic mountains and restless seas
Then paused and said
"It needs one more thing
Someone to laugh and dance and sing
To walk in the woods and gather flowers
To commune with nature in quiet hours"
So God made little girls
With laughing eyes and bouncing curls
With joyful hearts and infectious smiles
Enchanting ways and feminine wiles,
And when He'd completed the task He'd begun
He was please and proud of the job He'd done
For the world, when seen through
a little girl's eyes
Greatly resembles Paradise
