I followed the butterfly all around the yard and got several photos as it landed in different places. I was thrilled when it landed on this rock.

This is an HDR image, assembled from several shots taken at the same location. The Butterfly only stayed put for two of the photos and then it flew off. Trying to keep the camera in the same position, (I did not have a tripod with me) I took about about six more shots, each with different exposure settings. The darkest photo was almost completely dark with detail only in the sky. The brightest photo was almost completely white except for the details in the darkest shadows. I used HD software to merge the six photos into one image. Finally I used a "lens blur" filter on the house in the background.

Powered by Photoblog.com

I set up about a dozen stacks, but only ten are visible in this shot. One was out of frame and another was hidden by a stack in the foreground.

Powered by Photoblog.com
