Can I find a way to exist without being bound by the pressures we all face to conform to the rules of the game?
I get up and go to work everyday and wonder why I am spending so much time in my precious life doing something I feel I have to do, instead of doing the things I want to do.
Can I find the courage to live the life I dream instead of the life Im told to live?
Can anyone ever truly be free?

On a side note, it's been so long. I miss this place. Hope your all doing well.

How ironic.

In case any of you are wondering if Ive dropped off the face of the earth, the answer is no. Ive just gone back to school. I finally stopped thinking and talking about how much Id love to study photography and have enrolled myself in a part-time course. This is what that track post was all about. While Im still not really sure where it's all going to take me, I do know Im loving every minute of it .

On a final note, I'm expected to shoot a ton of photos each week, receive critique and offer critique to others. Im not sure what that will mean for my blog. I may be totally photo'ed out! I may continue to post significantly less, or some months not at all. We'll see how it all plays out.

Powered by Photoblog.com

Winter has certainly arrived.
It seems to have frozen the sky, dusted the grass in frost and brought my inspiration to a stand still.
Winter tries to suppress growth, but I feel rejuvenation on it's way.

Unfortunately with our ongoing drought here in Melbourne, nice big puddles arn't a common occurrence. Id love to do a bit of a series on them though and am going to persevere with the perfect puddle hunt.
Im also going to self critique this shot and save you all the trouble. I should have perhaps thought about straightening the lines in the reflection. I was in a rush though (courtesy of my rumbling stomach and starving, complaining husband). Although I also think the imperfection perhaps adds a little something.

Powered by Photoblog.com

There is no photo shopping to these at all. I had to build a contraption to block out the light and decided to make it out of a PVC pipe rather than cardboard. It isnt the most beautiful piece of equipment and it also looks really awkward, but im actually getting comfortable with it fairly quickly. Needless to say I got some very odd looks from people driving past when i was out shooting today. I may have to jazz it up a little. Maybe covering it all in black tape wont make it stand out so much. Maybe some bedazzler jewels? lol...hmm..maybe not.

I also bought some b&w film so I can use the camera in it's indented way. For anyone interested, instead of re spooling 120 onto 620, I ended up just grinding down the sides of the 120 spool and hey-presto...it fit! I'm not expecting much from my first roll. The shutter is so clangey and cumbersome that it makes it hard to hold the camera steady. Still, there is nothing like the excitement of developing a roll of film.

As if I dont have my hands full enough with all this going on, Ive also been having a play with Polaroids lately. Imagine if you will, me, walking around with a Polaroid camera wrapped around one wrist, DSLR around the neck and Duaflex hanging off the end of a PVC pipe...lol

BTW - I foresee MANY hours of entertainment with this contraption so brace yourself.....haha
