This car was parked outside my apartment building. And that's where I live. That unit on the left side has been my home for four years. Early this year, I started planning on leaving Shikoku Island, Japan. I don't usually believe in signs but this is probably one.
I guess it's time to pack, find a new home, and get the wheels turning and see what other amazing sites and experiences Japan has to offer.

So the lumberjack told the trees, "You made the cut!"
And all their hopes came falling down.

So the earthquake was a 3.0 but with those alarms it felt like Armageddon! It was that kind of warning sound that one hears in movies when something like an experiment lab is about to explode. Plus the town's warning message was completely hard to decode (and my Japanese ability went from five to zero). I had no idea what was going on. I thought I was going to have a heart attack!
Not sure if such ominous warnings are helpful or just cause panic to a debilitating degree. Still pretty shaken by the entire crazy experience.
