There were several lookout points along the highway so we stopped at a few so I could try and take some landscape photos for my assignment that was due this past week.

I hate landscape photography, I'm no good at it.

Powered by Photoblog.com

I was actually very pleasantly surprised that I was invited. We barely keep in touch although for the last couple years he, my friend and I have managed to get together over the holidays to have lunch and catch up.

I have to admit it was a very long ceremony parts of it in another language so I had no idea what was being said sometimes (they did provide a program with translations, which was nice) but it was a nice wedding and he looked really, really happy.

The reception was a lot of fun! There was more food than anyone could possibly eat, an ice sculpture of the Taj Mahal and a lot of Indian dancing mixed in with everything else!

I'm glad I was able to go.

Powered by Photoblog.com

I got to LAX and my flight was delayed an hour. I felt bad because my friend was going to pick me up at the airport. She flew into Philly and was coming straight from the airport so I thought she would have to wait somewhere for me until my flight got in.

Well, turns out that she got stuck in some really bad traffic and it was going to take her a while to get to Newark so I ended up sitting around in baggage claim reading. Today was not a good travel day for either of us.

Powered by Photoblog.com

I really like Norah Jones but I'm sad to say that I really didn't like this CD - kind of boring, actually. I like most of what's on the Black Eyed Peas CD, good music for keeping me awake when I'm driving home late at night. : )

Powered by Photoblog.com

I saw this package of Kit Kat and thought it looked interesting so I bought it and finally opened it today.

I thought it might taste different because it has red bean powder in it but it tastes like a regular Kit Kat. Kind of disappointing but it satisfied my chocolate craving.

Powered by Photoblog.com

Making jump rings and linking them together is a fairly simple process but it takes up a lot of time. I only had about a couple feet of 18 gauge wire so I could only make a few jump rings but I wanted to at least figure out how to make the pattern. I wasn't sure if I would like it but I think it will look ok.

It's taking a lot of work to make this pendant and I am really reluctant to let it go. Also, there is so much material going into this pendant that I don't think anyone would pay the price that it will end up being. I think I'm going to keep this one and I will make another pendant with just a bail and no chain (or use some chain that I already have) so that I can charge a reasonable price for it. Since I know what I'm doing this time it should only take me one class period to make it.

The other stone is for myself. I messed up a little on the bezel setting - the stone is irregular - it's not a perfect oval and one end is thicker than the other in some spots. I tried filing down the bezel wall the match the varying height of the stone but it didn't quite work out the way I hoped. It would have been better to set this in a prong setting but I wanted it in a bezel. Well, if I don't like how it looks after wearing it for a while I can always redo it.

Powered by Photoblog.com

There were seminars where you could listen to different speakers on various topics and booths from lots of acting related businesses like photographers, acting schools, websites, etc. I'm not sure if it was worthwhile to go...I did pick up a couple bits of info that might be helpful but I'm not sure if that was worth being there the whole day. I can't believe how exhausting it can be to listen to panel after panel of people. All you're doing is sitting there listening but it really wore me out by the end of the day. Of course, not having eaten at all the entire day may have had a huge effect on my energy level...

Powered by Photoblog.com
