Summer on the Test

OMG.... I actually got the old ATB out of the garage, dusted her down, pumped the ol tyres up (that was hard work with a hand pump!!)....and..... off out for a WELL overdue cycle jaunt around, what can only be described as, my true home........... the Test Valley, Hampshire..... as it turned out.... it was a perfect day!!!

Week-end at the parents.... carrying on with work to the new extension to the kitchen.... After though, its lovely weather, so..... A little camera time.... and some semi-willing subjects.......... actually they just hoped some "fetch" might be in order......

It is with incredible sadness that I pay this very small, personal tribute to a friend who has been a part of my life for nearly 16 years. She has given me so much joy and happiness.... unflinchingly loyal, selflessly generous, great comfort..... and all for just a biscuit or two.... now and again!... :)... could one have a better friend??? Speatha, the elder of the 3 fluffy ladies which are a part of my family..... has, this evening, quietly been put into a final gentle sleep.... My parents called me beforehand to let me know as they had promised to do when the time would come to make this awful decision.... she has very steadily been getting less and less able to be mobile... a combination of old age and some medical conditions.... today she was practically unable to move. Im unsure if I could have been there..... im not sure i would have liked to have seen her so.... helpless.... I always saw her as having so much life, such a spark, even though the body was unable to provide all that well what the mind clearly wanted...."Get the Ball", "Get the Squirrel"..... :).... fond memories. I feel terrible.......... but I must smile because I know what a wonderful life that beautiful lady had.... and what we got back from her equally... so wonderful!! Speatha.... you were the first of my parents dogs that I truly connected with... for whatever reasons.... a true companion to me on my many excursions out into the countryside, a true companion and friend to us all. This is my tribute to you......... thank you, my beautiful fluffy friend.... ill love you always.......
