Night time storm

We thought that we were in for a real pounding when this storm started forming. However it has come to nothing. Still it was very spectacular. These images were taken in darkness so focussing was very tricky. The exposure times were around 20 - 30 secs.

Brooks Creek

Jpfromoz and I set out early this morning to photograph Brooks Creek. This is a small creek that you cross on the way from Canberra to Sydney not far past the turnoff to Gundaroo. The bridge in the picture is the original highway bridge before they built the new highway about half a kilometre to the east. We could here the sounds of the cars going past but were lost in our own world.

Lazy Saturday Afternoon

FaTmAn and I took a quick trip along the railway tracks to photograph this place. It is a stand of trees on a little hill just on the edge of town. I have photographed this area before. This was a chance to spend a little more time there and up close. We had to keep waiting for the sun to come out from behind the clouds to get the light right.

A by-gone era

I took myself off this morning to do some photography. I wanted to photograph an old hut. Whilst I took a few images of the hut the day was overcast and grey. I will go back when the lighting is better. On the way I found this old truck. It was new back in the 1950s and was used in Goulburn as a tow truck. Up until a few years ago the engine still ran. Now it sits out its days at the gateway to this farm. Out to stud perhaps! EDIT: I put up a colour version of the truck following Zedsdead's comment

This is a picture of FaTmAn I took a while back. I am playing with some new frame ideas. What do you reckon? EDIT: Pattyb suggested a smaller white border so here is another slight variation. I think she may well have been right :-)

A few images of Brisbane at night. The lights on the river were quite amazing. It is a really beautiful city. I wouldn't find it hard to live there.

My Auntie Joan

This is my Auntie Joan. She is just about to turn 90! She lives in Brisbane and still gets around despite her age. I trust that I am as spritley at 90 (assuming I get that far). She wasn't overly keen on me taking her picture but I think I got a good result.
