Summer is coming to an end..

Today is the last day of my summer vacation, and it's back to school tomorrow... RAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.... I wish this summer is longer, I am so not ready for my A-Levels... Anyway, potential adopters came to see Maggie and Lily, I hope that they will adopt them! Oh a side note, due to a certain accident which happened while I was in Beijing... the fenced field area is now locked up by the government... dang.. now our kids have no where to play unless we bring them to the Cyberport doggy park... My poor Agatha was so disappointed when she realised she cannot get inside...

I am back! I miss you all~

DEB, WHERE ARE YOU?????? I MISS YOU SO MUCH!!!!! Anyway, yes, I am back from Beijing, and I will get the photos up soon... but back to the doggy business! I miss the kids at the kennels SOOOOOOOOOOO much! To bad I didn't get to see the Springer spaniel Marcus, hope he will have a good life ahead. And the same goes to Fruity, the young GSD girl that I really wish to see, Trixie, whom I didn't get the chance to say good bye to her and Dupont, the cute little lab boy! weather today, the same, a sudden bout of rain, nearly drenched, but a nice good soak is always good during the hot summer weather.. how I wish to be back in Beijing, enjoying the cool weather...

Yes, there's gonna be a three week hiatus here, I am going to Beijing starting from next Sunday, so BOOOHOOOO... no kennels for three weeks... Anyway, it's Mandy's birthday a few days ago, so we had a mini party for her, complete with cakes~ yes cakes, one cake from Deb, and two special cakes from Angelita. THANKS! So bye for you now, see you all three (four) weeks later! I. WILL. BE. BACK.

My aunt's sister Tizianna has come to Hong Kong from Austria, and we've decided to bring her around Hong Kong. So today, we went to the Lantau Island to visit Tai O, Ngon Ping and of course the Buddha at the Po Lin Monastery. (No, we didn't take the Ngon Ping 360, in fear of the 340 'Free-Falling' happening to us) Along the way, I met quite a few mongrels, and I also saw a small puppy that looks suspiciously like a Gold Retriever pup.... It was running among the bushes alone... I hope he or she has someone looking after him or her...

I hate the rain! One moment it was hot and sunny, the next moment, rain was pouring..... (and it is still raining when I am typing this...) We didn't manage to bring too many dogs out because of that, so we were forced to stay in doors, did a hair cut for Bart... He was pretty much sulking when we finished, but he looks nice..

1st year Anniversary: Sunny Day, Happy Dogs

I've been working at the kennels for one year! It's great to have a day with nice weather! Finally, it's hot and dry for once... I haven't been to a dry kennels in AGES. Most of our dogs are pretty happy with the change in weather, they enjoyed their walkies and everything! We also had a new member at the kennels today, called Bingo, now he's Bugle... the poor 10-month-old was literally abused! He lived in a buidling where anything larger than a Peke or Shih Tzu is no allowed, so he was never brought out. To prevent him from barking, the ex-owners put a bark-and-buzz collar, which totally scarred his neck... The ex-owner felt nothing was wrong with that! One of them even said "oh, we didn't realise he will grow so big! We thought he will only be like a small dog..." Come on, that man has a daughter, does he know his daughter will grow into a large adult human whe she was born? SHAME ON THEM! FOR GOODNESS SAKE! THAT'S A BEAGLE! HE NEEDS EXERCISE! HE'S A DOG, HE WILL BARK! YOU CAN'T STOP HIM LIKE THAT! That family showed no signs of sadness, not even a teeny-weeny bit of remorse or guilt.. I bet they thought, "Finally, that day is gone from our lives!" Serves them right to be scolded and cursed and yelled by us... Those people are ridiculous!

Wet and noisy dogs

Goodness, Red rain again? Oh that was the previous day.... I am just glad that for most Sundays, the weather is quite good, which just comes after several days of heavy rainstorms. We need more blue sky, but please, not so much sun... I don't want to be fried alive when walking our wonderful dogs.... Anyway, after the rain, most of our lovely friends are sticky and wet.. they definitely need a wash or something... hope the weather will be better in the next few weeks... I hate to see dogs with white hair like Polar turning from a white dog to a brown or grey one... Bad weather also means noisy, restless dogs.. Tarzan spent most of the time fighting for 'his' toys (ok, that was a know issue) but he just have to bark non-stop! Oh, and so did Eccles!

Another Lazy Sunday

Another lazy Sunday at the kennels it rained continuously for several days, and yesterday, there was even a Black Rainstorm Warning (the strongest warning for rainstorms in Hong Kong) People had trouble going to the kennels yesterday that some have to spend 3.5 hours to go from their home to the kennels, because of the flooding and landslides.. Anyway, quite a busy day, but most of our dogs decided to sleep the day off again, inside the volunteers' room, to enjoy the aircon, and the very relaxing music.
