well, this is KHANDVI-made out of gram flour. It's a popular dish from Gujarat in Western India.
Don't be alarmed by those chillies-more for visual appeal-khandvi is generally not all that hot.

 I am not sure but according to local guide the main purpose of this Palace was to let the females in Royalyty watch the streets below from windows, because they, according to the ancient Hindu custom were not allowed to move(or be seen) among the public.

The sheath is made out of a particular wood called AIDU/AIRU in local language. This wood is suitable for sheath coz it's light and at the same time very strong.
