Unless you were old enough to vote in the early 1980's, you may not remember some of these. If there is any interest in these classics, I will post others after I unpack them. One day I plan to have a small photographic "museum" if I can find the proper display cases and find the room. If anyone else has some old classics, I'm sure that some of us old timers would enjoy seeing them. Note....most of this data was obtained from the internet, so I can't guarantee that it is 100% accurate.

Powered by Photoblog.com

The scientific name is due to a translation error by the describing botanist from CATAWBA, a Catawba Native American name for the tree. The leaves are eaten by the caterpillars of theSphinx moth. These "catawba worms" are excellent live fish bait. And yes, we call them CATAWBA trees in the South.

Powered by Photoblog.com
