Old Memories - 747 in Madeira

On the 6th October 2002, Madeira airport new terminal was inaugurated. To celebrate the ocasion, we had the presence of a B747 (TF-ABA).
It was the first time (and only, until know) that such a plane landed at Madeira.
Outside the airport, lots and lots of people to see the plane.
Living on an island, the airport and its planes, as well as the ships are of capital importance to all Madeirarean, so its not a surprise the interest such a big bird made among the people.
Traffic was a big mess for Km around the airport and even arrving early only could get a parking far from runway 05's treshold. Had to walk the rest and it wasn't easy to find a place to stay... :))
The camera was crappy and the photographer was even worst but anyway, the pics are here to remember...
Just know I noticed, on background 2 other old memories...and Air Luxor plane (already gone airline...) and an old livery TAP....
(And look at the size of the 747 compared to those 2 smallies....)
