Today (18 of April), President of the Republic, visiting Madeira, was going to visit the other populated island of the archipelago of Madeira, the Porto Santo island. He and rest of the comitive were going in a PoAF (Portuguese Air Force) Hercules, which made 2 trips for Porto Santo. The first one with the press and then return to get the President. Was running late but still managed to arrive to the airport just in time to get it starting the take off run.

Returning empty from the trip with the press, it made quite an interesting approach, coming in a bit high then making a bit of a dive approach...unfortunately no pics of this...was on the phone...(does that ring a bell to someone?).

After correcting the wing down it flyed a bit leveled before touchdown.

Seeing the way the door opens and and his hand comes out first to arrest the door cable, reminds me of an ET getting out of its space ship...lol

By the way...YES!!! It's one of the squadron Hercules with the tail art regarding the 30 years of the Squadron. Still hadn't got any with it.

The President looked quite impressed also with the medals of the soldier. It was the only one he stoped and talked to...KFOR stuff at Kosovo?

Captain receiving the Presidencial passenger...mind your head...not the usual confort...I wonder if they mounted the VIP kit? And by the way, some ear plugs would also be nice...inside of a flying Hercules makes a hell of a noise....
