On the road I

Somewhere on the railroad between Antwerp and Brussels, Belgium...
there was a sudden burst of light in the sky. i stopped and stared and gasped. it looked mystical, with the cross standing in the midst of the heavy yet luminous clouds. strange though, with the threads and the lines, the metallic mechanics of the railway system framing the symbol of western spirituality.

then a little further, we stopped at a tiny station, in the middle of Belgian nowhere. it seemed like we jumped a couple of decades back when the TGV and the Thalys and the Eurostar were only fata morganas, sparks of imagination in the minds of geniuses and mad men, spectres of an age that would defy nature's course without any boundaries.
