there is no black or white

patrolling in my street

sunday aftenoon at Eddésands, a trendy beach resort in Byblos

in the following posts, i will try to portray a contrasted image of reality: presence of the army, blissful people having fun. indeed, i have already posted a lot of images from lebanon depicting this. but i guess, it is something that i still want/need to show...

presently, there is no war in lebanon, and we all hope that it will stay that way. the 2006 war left open scars and worstened a fragile political situation. on the other hand, the battle in the north at Nahr el Bared is over, the army won over the 'terrorist' cells: in this case, i am using the term 'terrorist' which i normally abhor, because those who took over the palestinian camp in May were just that - a random mixture of people which infiltrated Lebanon to once again destabilize it.
but terror is widespread, all over the world and is certainly the biggest plague of the 21st Century, whether the danger is real or imaginery. Sadly, too many people use it as a weapon, even politicians of 'democratic' or so-called democratic countries.
every side is using terror whether directly or indirectly. and we, the little people, we will never know who is really behind this unhealthy world balance, who is the real big bad wolf? One thing is for sure, this: $$$ has a lot to do with it...

noptek The two pictures are great. Each depicts a part of the same reality.

longimanus A truly spectacular set, which perfectly expresses the absurdity of war... terror... it is definitely present, but as you say it is used as a tool to take advantage of our fear! I think I will go to sleep with your thoughts... Thanks for sharing

Mabi938 Thank you for your comment. The money and the capacity, are indeed the most obvious causes of this use of the "terrorist" word and crimes committed on its behalf. It is always the history of the crusades in another form, because of the diverted use of the tools of progress.
More afflicting is that the human ones are conscious but refuse the idea not to benefit from advantage of privileges related to the law of the strongest, natural law diverted by the man to satisfy his vanity.
Thank you for all these testimonys that you make us of a situation so much denatured by the majority of the media still subordinated to the policies, even if the men and women which work there do not share the quite founded of the orientations of their employers.

kangshung Interesting contrasts - #1 is very good. Great words too - personally what I dislike most about so-called terrorist threats is the way politicians use it to instil fear and strengthen their power.
