Aug. 22: Queen Anne's Lace; Purple Flower; Early Ducks; Many Parking Lot Geese

The light was still nice on the lake when I got home from taking Patrick to the subway. So I got my big camera and went back out.
I missed a shot of a couple of small wading birds (maybe lesser herons, I don't know) because of bad stalking technique--I need to practice that more. But I got a picture of some wild flowers--Queen Anne's Lace and some purple spiky thing--because they are not prone to run away even with bad stalking.
I also got one of the ducks out on the lake--though the light wasn't nearly as dramatic as it looks there. The morning sunlight on the dark lake made everything go way contrasty.
Edited the post to add the picture of the geese in the parking lot at the Metro station. There's a big group of them there (I think a couple of family groups, but the goslings are all grown up now). I'd forgotten to upload it yesterday because the pics from the DSLR were so nice

This is a very nice set. Wonderful Queen Anne's Lace, pretty purple flowers, and the geese in the parking lot with the sky reflecting in the puddle is most intriguing!
