Still more grey cloudiness and no-light. But I went to the wildlife refuge and saw neat things anyway. (So there, Sun! I'll have fun without you if you won't come around! ::koff:: Sorry 'bout that.)
Anyway, the road that leads into it is lovely--deliberately made very narrow (the lane going the other direction has its own meandering course a little ways off) so as to disrupt the forest canopy as little as possible.
As I was driving in, I spotted some deer in the woods. At first I was bummed by the focus not being on the deer...but ultimately I decided I like it this way.
The Heron in flight was a total gift--I've been wanting to photograph one flying for ages but never had a chance. The goose seems to be aiming for the same majesty, but mostly just flapping its wings. :D

The woodland road looks *old* with all the old trees, I like the deer shot too. I laughed at your description of the goose!
