another day, another.....lunch. I managed to convince them that if I had another piece of seafood I'd grow fins, jump into the sea and swim away so we had a wonderfully bland meal of chicken and mushroom soup, duck, BBQ pork, pepper beef, chow mein and vegetables. It was delicious.

sydneylizzie The fish I can cope with, but am shuddering at the snakes and frogs

sarez excuse my language but...Fuck you Jen!

Don't get me wrong, i love chinese food. But i've been eating out morning noon and night for over a month and i just want a lamb roast or something!

sarez and the frogs reminded me far too much of cane toads to be able to consider them a foodstuff.
sarez · 2010-11-06: 09:45
kitegypsy I remember being presented with one of the chinese 'mystery foods' when I was there. lots of debate at the table over one item... sort of like a fish backbone, but meatier... turned out to be snake... it wasn't bad. but then i had eaten eel in holland.

thisismizb snake not super appetizing to me I'm 'fraid... (that said, things like crawfish and bluecrabs prolly look gross to people not used to eating them), still...

moxxxie I love seafood but that could have turned me into a vegitarian. Sending you warm thoughts of steak and potatoes.
moxxxie · 2010-11-06: 19:48
sarez I will confess that I coughed up for a steak at the hotel retaurant last night....steak, potatoe gratin, sauteed mushrooms, spinach and a bottle of Hungerford Hill Shiraz. Cost $110 amd was worth every cent. Got the other half of the bottle here and think I might get a woodfired pizza delivered to my room tonight. I used to give David grief about ordering overpriced pizza and wine when he was always travelling. Now I TOTALLY get it so I sent him a message last night to apologise.

ifpics Hmm.. Not my choice for lunch!
Sare--know exactly what you mean re: having 'normal' food when away for longer periods of time!
ifpics · 2010-11-07: 06:18
