A rare occasion, at any one year
still as usual, it was just as special
during toast our tea cups clinked
y's mom just turned 70 something
she was our celebrated home chef
and not one dish could stand the test
for y's mom's concoctions were always the best
then a farewell to sandi
going back to her home country
it's in myanmar and she seems happy
still i was surprised
the twins neither fussed nor cried
but always adorable, to our delight!
shh! and a little secret:
y's mom wanted to share a small windfall
with the family so it was her shout.
