I am a writer and botanist interested in life’s journey, history, cultures, plants and futures thinking.

Photography is one of my passions. My approach is to seek the unusual angle and topic, shift its context, and try to reflect its soul and spirit. Most of my photos have been shot in Africa, Europe and Korea.

I like the challenge of only publishing raw images but also very much enjoy the creative efforts of photo-editors. I have begun to use Picasa 3 to do some tweaking edits on some of my photographs.

I used an Exilim 770 and a Nikon D-40 with a 18-135 mm lens for my early blogs but have now shifted to Nikon D60 with a 55-200 mm lens. Early days yet but I think I prefer the more versatile 18-135 mm lens.

I am working on a history of the the number seven, a book of poems and drawings, and a book on African Megaliths ('large stones').

It is is rather cold her in Bath; looks inviting where you are. Like balance of Photo 5
Thanks! it was cold too in Suances, but it is worth enjoying the sea in winter.

I first read this title as the Consolidations of Philosophy! One of the best lines I ever read was by Plato who said: "The universe is a duodecahedron". What on earth did he mean?
LOL! look into my tags (below the comments) and you can see, i unconsciously made the same mistake! :-)

i'm just reading up on plato's cosmology now, you caught me cold on this one; even though i consider myself a platonist and studied his dialogues way back in university, i didn't know this one. so far, i found out that until today, there is debate going on if plato nailed the nature of the universe with this, even better than any quantum theory could. - here is a link that might be interesting for you too: http://www.mlahanas.de/Greeks/PlatoSolid.htm.

I owned one of these when I was a student and it was the best vehicle ever and that was a long time ago. I hope to drive one again.
i bet that was also the time when you didn't give a damn WHERE to sleep, not to speak of dreaming. ^-)

Stunning. I love this painter. Who is the artist?
Hello, Sorry for the delay...I was able to speak to the owner of this painting..from what we can tell, the artist is either
'Boyta- or 'Bouta' .. I believe it is Boyta. The painting was done by the artist in the marketplace in Port of
Prince many years ago when the owner traveled to this area. She said there were many artists painting
many different kinds of artwork in the marketplace. I love this too.
