Huangshan

2008.05.01
Finally arrived in Tunxin, old city

An old pharmacy

"I have only my motorbike."

This is a hostel?

Our host: Great guide, great cook and a great homoaepathist - all in one.

6 o clock in the morning. Rice and Coffee - an interesting combination.

The pragmatism in China is well known: Chopsticks to stir coffee.

After cooking for us the wifes host was relaxing watching tv and doing some aerobics.

In the cable car: After one hour waiting finally inside the cable car. Thomas and Peggy decided to hike (the stairs) - 2 hours.

Okay, so thats Huangshan.... : ( Later it cleared.

You know what the Chinese like doing on weekends? Travelling, like everyone else. Just that there are so many Chinese....

Action!!

We saw a dozen of these people, just carrying everything necessary for the hotels on the top of the mountain: up and down, then up again.... then down.

If you dont wanna walk just take a "chair lift"

One weekend we went to Huangshan with friends. Although it took us a really long time to get there, it was worth. Before we had booked a room at a bed and breakfast hostel. At the bus station a man picked us up and took us to his "hostel", which was his appartment and he used 3 rooms for tourists. Really nice and clean. As soon as we arrived he made some te a, got a map from Huangshan and started explaining and showing (all in English). We were quite impressed. Even more when he offered to cook for us and we saw him standing there with an uproan and sunglasses cooking one dish after another. Wow.
The next morning we had to get up at around 5 o clock and when we finally got to the top of the mountain it was 12 o clock. The landscape there was really breathtaking (although first we couldnt see anything - because of the fog). We spent 2 nice days there and felt relaxed and enjoyed the nature.
