Loaded cycle rickshaw in the backstreets of Pahar Ganj. My first morning in India and i had to get up with the sparrows and go wandering in the streets, though by nature I am not an early riser.

The flower market near Connaught Place

Man at the flower market. As soon as I saw this man, I wanted to photograph him. He was sitting, with a ton of attiude, on a motorbike. I asked him if I could photograph him but he scowled at me in reply. So I went to work on other more agreeable people nearby and won him over by showing him the shots I'd taken of them.

Man and his cycle. He's still got that lovely scowling attitude. He was too far away to resist me, except by looking the other way but I was quicker than he was.

Pretty bike. Indians appear to have a particular attitude to beauty. Its something worth purusuing. Unfortunatley, I think its inherently tied up with religion and I wonder if for them, it's not about beauty at all. Obviously in this case, it's about making money.

You picture of a plant is a Tulasi plant, which is sacred to many Hindus. You must have seen a bunch throughout India. They also come in a purle variety, and is a cousin to the basil plant.
