So, I headed into the city one night a couple of weeks ago, with the idea to watch the laster light show to mark the opening of London's newest skyscraper, The Shard- which I call the cheese grater because, well, it I think it looks like one.
It ended up being a universal dissapointment, which seemed to be a popular opinion with the surrounding spectators. It was as if someone was simply shining a torch behind a sheet of green celophane from one of the higher floors. But the least I say about it the better, so I won't.
Luckily there were plenty of other more interesting sights down the embankment of the Thames, which takes on a whole new character with the arrival of a clear, dark night.
