Going to Branson - Day 3

2008.07.09
I treated my Mom and Meaghen to some of our favorite appetizers

cute little Missy, I love this girl - she is a real joy in my life

Grandma's first grand baby mostly grown up and getting ready to be on her own

My mom and me loving our time together, after Meaghen moved into the dorm I was crying when we left and My mom kept saying do you need to stop, "No I told her if I stop I will be knocking on her door." I love spending time with my mom; our relationship has not always been what it is today and as we drove she told "Now I get to spend time with my baby" that nearly made me cry too, because I will always be my mom's baby (I am her first born), just like Meaghen will always be my baby

Meagh's new shoes, she loves these shoes she says she feels like she is walking on air

My mom's birthday is July 8th and My aunt's is July 5th so they celebrated together on the 5th

On Saturday we went into Branson (about a 45 minutes south of my Aunt's apartment) to let Meaghen shop for some new tennis shoes at the Tanger Outlet Mall and then we had to go to Wal-Mart to spend money on stuff Meaghen needed for starting work and for getting her dorm room together. We spent the entire day together just enjoying time with each other. We had a really good day enjoying our last full say with Meaghen before the big move in.

Just a little note, each day is getting a little easier without my first born and she is having a GREAT time making tons of new friends and working as a waitress on campus. She told me a funny story last night when she called. Some of her new friends asked her to go out to Sonic after work and she told me later "Mom, I was getting ready to ask you if I could go when I realized I was living on my own and didn't have to ask." I thought that was really cute, because she is truly growing up before my eyes. I am so proud of this young lady for who she is and what she has and is becoming. God truly blessed me when He allowed me to have her in my life, for that gift I am forever grateful to HIm.

Love you all
Have a great day

veganess And now that she is all grown up, you two can become friends as women. It's amazing how your relationship changes once they leave home. You no longer need to mother them, and in a way, it's a liberating feeling. You can now just enjoy her more as an equal. Today, with the cell phones, e-mail, IM, you are just a finger-click away.

ambersunsets Such a sweet post. I can imagine how bittersweet this is for you.
My daughter will be a sophomore in high school this year, and I am taking in every minute I can with her.
Thanks for sharing.

tbranscum Gosh, you have brought tears to my eyes. You are killing me! Glad that you all had fun on your trip and looks like you went to the right place for some good food. Thanks for sharing your time and I hope your daughter sees your post, because she needs to know how proud you are of her and what a blessing she is to you.
