These Seussical Mask Characters were made by bright young things (9-year-olds) studying at Rotary Park Enviroschool in Dunedin. Each mask represents a favourite Dr. Seuss storybook character. Beginning with a Multimask starter base the students got stuck in with plaster bandage and sculpted their character-shapes. The kids used Resene paint to achieve vivid and animated colours, and then added coloured pipe cleaners for effect. It is a huge challenge to turn 2D book pages into 3D storymasks but the children were supported and encouraged to step up by their teacher. Each mask took about 10 hours to make, but the children helped each other. The children and their teacher Jan Stevens are very proud of their original creations!! We at Maskworx are gobsmacked!! Wonderful work! THE POWER TO ENVISION is certainly working in this classroom...
