I took this shot at the Shugakuin Imperial Villa, on the outskirts of Kyoto, Japan. Build on the remains of an ancient temple dating from the 10th century A.D. this was the preffered villa of the Emperor Gomizuno. This villa is relatively hard to get into, requiring special reservation and even a lottery system for the Japanese citizens so I felt priviledged to be there. There are some amaizing shots behind what was a great 2 hour tour and they all synthesize the magic of japanese gardens.
