Practicing some more with the flowers before they wilt (possibly another photo opportunity:) I used a white board as a reflector and the trusty handheld bathroom mirror. I'd like to work on better compositions with these flower shots but I'm happy just practicing too. I included a shot of my super expensive studio setup, including a drinking glass, black/white boards, a children's book and bathroom mirror. Oh and I had to pay the hand model (expensive)

Well...for me, I would have held the hand a bit closer to the flower petals in the first shot...almost touching it...and with the flower slightly higher in angle but the flower itself is stunning...I really like the third shot and the focal points with the soft blur of the stems. :-) You're doing great! 2 and 3 are fantastic, I love flowers in b&w but the roses really do 'pop'. Darned good. I think we all have McGyvered set ups like this... all that pro gear we see in the magazines is just for the magazine shoot, I'd bet. McMommy · 2012-02-02: 23:54
