Take, for example, these street lights going up all over town. They would win any competition for unmitigated ugliness. sometime later, I'll try and photograph the almost lovely electric poles in Shimla which were put up a hundred years ago...
The new poles are generating a lot of curiosity. An impromptu poll (conducted by me!) reveals that 9 out of 10 people thought they're simply awful. The 10th person was confident they wouldn't work, so we might not actually have to see the poles!
