One of the last trees to change colour fully is when the Beech leaves turn this deep brown. Their green turns to yellow, early, along with the Maples but they stay on the trees far longer.They'll stay on the tree until well after snow is on the ground.

.... and all that we Canadians do is grumble about snow. We have to shovel it so we can get out of the driveway, it is cold out and we have to wear heavy clothes. .... but many of us enjoy different activities in winter. I enjoy hiking and snowshoeing in the snow, The children that I teach love to build with the snow (snowmen, forts and snow angels) and go down hills on sleighs, toboggans or just slide in their nylon snowsuits. It is cold so we dress for the weather and try to enjoy it. We also have days with snowfalls that are so deep that busses don't take chidren to school or so cold that cars won't start. On those days we stay inside or go out and shovel the snow off our sidewalks and driveways. I'll post snow photos when the time comes. stabeez · 2010-10-19: 18:46
