What I Carry

Caching Items
Some of these are carried only when we think we’ll want them. GPS on lanyard, Batteries, Compass, Map, Pen, Pencil, Duct tape, extra mini geocaches, cache repair materials ( a card to put in caches to tell people what they have found if it’s found by mistake, extra logbook, plastic bag to keep caches dry), notepad, tweezers to grab logs out of small containers, insect repellent wipes, UV light, string with a powerful magnet and paperclip (hook), telescopic magnet, ROTI code card, Muggle cards (tell non-geocachers about the activity), small bungee, mechanic grab tool, mechanic telescoping mirror, small mirror, trade item (purple finger skateboard), hiking poles |
Camera
Camera and some to all of: extra lenses, drybag in case of rain, small reflector, remote, extra battery, extra memory, lens wipe, gorillapod, garbage bag to lie on. |
Alternate camera

Safety
Phone, water bottle, extra food, fruit, candy, small first aid kit, disposable raincoat, money, alcohol wipe, whistle, compass, multi tool, bear bells, tick remover/snake bite kit, matches, pills, ID in gold waterproof tube, duct tape, tissues or toilet paper |
Additional/Seasonal/Situational
Sunscreen, Insect repellent, Bugshirt, raincoat, suitable hat, gloves, water purification tablets/filter, sunglasses, extra socks, bandana, long pants, footwear (hiking, rubber, rain, running), monopod (with bungee to go around tree) |
I was asked recently, what I carry when I go to the forest to geocache, photograph or hike.
I thought it would be easier to empty the bag than try to remember.
Many of these items are carried in a separate bag that we toss in as necessary.

! That's quite a kit. I hope you never need to use the bear bells or the snake bite kit :P

I think you have all the bases covered there Dave! One thing though....a bag of beef jerky....why you ask.....you'll know why if the time ever comes up when you'll need it.....
