Such busy birds, are the Martins, gathering insects. Nice captures.
Right now they are building their nest..and a little fighting over who gets which one :-) They do eat mosquitoes which we have plenty of but not right now..

These are interesting birds. Are they vegetarian? Do they use the bill to scoop their food?
I don't see them all that often and I'm not totally sure as to the answers to your questions. I do think they find whatever they are eating under the water, but it might be snails, worms, or something animal in nature. I just don't know. Thanks for visiting!

MArvelous Dar. We were lucky enough to see some Bison/Buffalo while in South Dakota last year. What size and majesty.
