i normally don't publish sunset pictures
. but i got so many people commenting on picture no. 2 in my last entry, including some personal messages requesting to know more about it that i decided to give you more of the series.
this has been taken in rapperswil
, a small town at the southeastern end of the zürich lake, all within 1 hour around 5.30 pm. it's an old medieval town with a castle sitting on top of a hill, overlooking the lake and the adjacent mountains.
the burning evening sky
is a rare sight in winter. it appears only when the weather has been right (sunny during the day, but cold and clear, with incoming clouds in the afternoon). according to local mythology, you're considered lucky when you were there.
