1968 - reading the "weltatlas" at home

August 1968 - "ringelreihn" on my 6. birthday

gosh, we had fun with some pretty stupid games!

1968 - birthday races with bikes; the winner got some sweets - while the garages in the background are still not completed.

this thingie is a "murmelbahn" (some kind of marble toy) which could occupie us for hours.

1971 - not sure who is on this picture aside of my mother, brother and sister. we made these frequent winter walks along the (inner) border of west-berlin; everywhere these signs warning you not to walk into the "todesstreifen" (death stripe)

1973 - with friends at home... probably watching TV - that was the first year we had one, and it was usually locked

1974 - some professional photographer came into our school, making a portrait of each of us for our final school gathering... i believe we were free to choose the pose, and i chose reading a comic... ;-)

this is probably the only time i'll ever fully use my 30 pictures limit here - well, it's for a good purpose: on friday, i'll be flying home to berlin to meet my old school buddies (including our absolutely fabulous young teacher karin!); celebrating the 40th anniversary of our school enrollment in berlin-spandau, grundschule am beerwinkel.
i'm looking sooo much forward to it! :-)

these pictures brightened my morning. I must say that karin was hot:) and of course, I can find you: 1968 - second row, you are the first one on the left with contagious smile. not so sure about 1974 - maybe third row, orange t-shirt, blue sleeves?

I agree about Karin, I am overawed. How sweet are all those childhood memories. I must have been a wonderful childhood to have. :D

What a cool outfit on the last shot! And I can also see you were already that cynical and shameless (a cute one) with 6 years as you are today :)))) and that you were already watching tv when I was born and no, I did not find you on that class group photo...

oh my GOSH these were so enjoyable to look at. congratulations on what looks like a fantastic childhood! i so wish i was born in that time. i'm just not right for my g-g-g-generation, ha ha. that was a pretty lame reference, but what do i care. incredible pictures, and i can't wait to hear about your reunion!

the outfits are priceless. you'll have to take lots of pictures at the reunion. i am curious to see how did things went on for everyone. and that teacher looks more like a suprmodel
