my favorite bar

a lot a many good things can be said about hanging out in bars. they are full of people seeking pleasure, getting drunk and forgetting their sorrows, have interesting discussions with other people and generally just watch all those little dots of live floating by through the river of time.

i particularly like this place, in the middle of the city. it has a 2 floor design, a large outside area including access to a small river, it is usually full of customers from all kinds of places, which renders the individual talking of everyone to a cacophony of illegible sounds, with laughter standing out as the only thing everyone understands.

and it has a pleasantly chaotic collection of things to look at, should you be there just on your own, are not allowed or able to look at the sexy display of your beautiful date or just in general, have lost the threat of the discussion for a moment. then, letting your brain roam through the room, all these things come to live and tell you a story. a story which will be continued in your blurry dreams later when you sleep off your hangover.

That is a fantastic photograph. I've met some great people in bars, all over the world, and sadly lost touch with them.

I have never been a bar person myself, and until reading your post now, I did not really understand the allure of these establishments at all... but now I know it is about watching little dots of life floating by through the river of time - that is what it is!!!

How interesting. I think this would be an interesting topic for that thing we used to do around here where everyone participated in such a subject (I forget what it was called)... Oh wait... "Mass Observation" I believe. Anyway it seems to say a lot that this would be your favorite bar. It's much brighter and cheerful looking than what I would imagine you to choose as a "favorite". Some times I am convinced that your portrayal of yourself is much darker than your actual self. But I won't spread that observation around and spoil your reputation. Fascinating people and conversations can be had in bar, I agree... probably 75% of it is bull shit but it's fascinating bull shit non the less. 8^)
