Actually, I am not feeling comfortable with these portraits because they are quite "thriller feeling"... Is this your intention ? haha.. very special use of light, focusing and very mysterious ambiance :)

Beautiful. Especially number 3. What are you doing here (as in what method, not what are you doing here on the photoblog)?

Gosh, it's amazing how you are tackling this project and exploring all angles to find solutions to your question, that, who is Antigone? You've got a great attitude too! (You said, "I know if I mess up, I can always make another one. If I make a mistake it's not a big deal.") It's a wonderful "can-do" approach that will be useful your whole life. I see the shadows and they look good. You asked about how to do shadows on the face. Your shadows intense, so you could probably just make some very faint indications of shadows on the woman. But where? Well, look at the shadows you've already created the mask of these woman's faces. Working with shadows can actually get pretty complicated. You are already off to a good start, though. Again, where's your single light source (same one that falls on the woman´s faces). Well, Taylor, I'll close by saying that your portraits are REALLY nifty. Your are blending the gray tones beautifully. Nice job. The frames looks well planned also. Keep in touch. This is getting interesting, Taylor
