Iqaluit September visit

I am back working as a locum in Iqaluit for 2 weeks. Today I was honoured to have breakfast with 2 former Ottawa patients who are now my friends. Peter Irniq, on the left, was a member of the government of the North West Territories and then Nunavut and Commissioner of Nunavut in the early days. Jack Anawak was member of Parliament for Nunavut and then Canada's circumpolar ambassador. Both are from Repulse Bay and have worked tirelessly for their people all their lives. The continue to be active in the promotion of the Inuit culture. Fantastic to spend time with them

This is the scene from my window at recess of the school across the road. So many young children here. The community has a population explosion and the mean age is very young
