Instead of viewing the sun coming up through the haze in this morning's Raleigh area sunrise, above is a shot of the purple haze, itself, about 30 minutes before sunrise proper. This time of year, the transition from the horizon to the sky is a real study in pastels. At top is a view of the risen sun, shot just as fast and stopped as the old 550UZ can go, to better see its real color. Awesome!
