Today during sunrise, the Raleigh area saw the first occurrence this year of a summer-like purple haze on the horizon... a phenomena that greatly filters the sun's rays and, in so doing, facilitates a capture of the risen sun, in the top image (better viewed large on black). The shot at twilight's onset, above (also better LOB), really highlights said haze. Sweet sunrise event!
