On this first day of August, the Raleigh area saw overcast skies and light rain at sunrise but no glimpse of the sun through it all. So... the top image is an archived stand-in shot... this from July 19, 2009, with that very satisfying combination of pinks & blues (and better large on black). Sweet oldie! For truth-in-advertising purposes, above is a shot of this morning's non-rise (still better LOB).
