By the time the sun broke the horizon, the clouds had thinned enough to provide a great filtering effect, giving the Raleigh area a coral sun above the treeline in the top image (better large on black). #2 is a closer look at that sun (LOB), and the pastel view at mid-twilight is above (again, better LOB). Sweet sunrise for the first of May!
