Messing with focusing

2009.01.03

I'm continuing my self-education with the new D-SLR and so far have come across one major pitfall... with a compact I was so used to using live view, but now I'm using the viewfinder, which is impossible when I have glasses on! Or I take them off and wonder why the camera won't focus... hee... I know it's a very small complaint, and one I'll get used to getting around!

urmysunshine I can see how that could get frustrated- hang in there, neat shots! R

tcalbaz It looks like you are working out the basics in your mind very well. High aperture = Infinite focus for depth of field and sparkly light at night. Low aperture = shallow depth of field and fuzzy backgrounds. Sometimes with a DSLR its fun just to go out and work with Manual only. Turn off all automatic options.

mandylouwho The shots are turning out well, hope you can get used to the view finder.
