Beautiful story and great picture. Me thinks your daughter should post (kidding). This brings back many memories of my sister and Mom baking cookies and my favourites Mom's apple and lemom meringue pie!! Let the baking begin!!!

I know...she is getting better and better. The new digital camera has really helped her move forward quickly in her skill. She still doesn't "get" f stops and film speed and shutter speed...but she definitely has an eye for composition. Leapfrog...thanks again for all of your wonderful comments!

You are definitley right about her eye for composition. A lot of people would have done a wider shot and maybe from a higher angle. I like that she's learned that you don't have to show everything to tell the whole story. :) Her dof is pretty darn good in this photo though. Great focus on the measuring cup but you still get a sense of the ingredients and being in a kitchen. Kudos to your daughter.

i agree with your daughter i love this picture its sweet and eveyone can relate to it. it reminds me of my grandma and im sure many others

the sifter reminds me of my great-grandmother. i kept some of her old pyrex dishes. crazy bright colors. i wish i had kept her beat up old tin measuring cups, too. your daughter's got a good eye.
