Now my secret is out. Thank you for such kind words. "lazy" made me LAUGH. What a hilarious expression. The dog pictures are very soulful. When the eyes are in sharp focus, you can't go wrong in portrait, I think. Though dogs noses protrude more then human noses, so it's harder to have the whole face sharp. Congratulations on the new lens.

...and there you have it from the Gotz herself...both of you have me re-thinking the lens situation. Good shots.

Great job with the new lens. I do the same thing with my cat and new camera equipment. :) Lazy is a riot but "Those eyes" is spectacular. And dachsunds do have the sweetest eyes, don't they?

Congrats on the new lens! I love "Lazy" and the focus on "Cowboys are gentlemen" is incredible - and Oh! your dog's eyes are definitely a window to the soul .

f1.8 can be very difficult to work with as you're discovering... its all a matter of making sure your focal point is 100% correct... because if it isn't... You're getting the hang of it, especially in the 4th picture. All i can say is practice and the rest will come naturally!

I'd say you got a good lens.

These are amazing already! You'll get it sometime, don't worry. What is the fastest exposure time? Mine is 1/2000 of a second. Beautifully captured!
