We Fix Everything - Again

2008.01.16
Origional

Updated: PLEASE ENLARGE FOR BEST EFFECT. .

This is the second time I have posted this particular photo. I really like it a lot...but can't figure out how to accent the aspects of the photograph that I love.

I love the contradiction in the decay of the building and the boasting of the sign.

The new version uses vignetting and selective focus/blur to draw the eye to the sign as the main subject. I think it is an improvement...what do you think?

mybigbackyard I like the effect of the selective blur combined with the sepia treatment. It stresses the hopefulness (naivete?) of the words, just as you wanted. Nicely done.

the12thdude Have you tried cropping closer to the building...putting more of the bits you like closer? I like the first one better!

JuliaGotz In my opinion, the text is strong enough to draw the eye.
The only thing I think you could possibly do differently is to drive back there and take the same shot at a different time of day, so that the sun is reaching that part of the building. but it works as it is. The sepia is NICE.
