I just happened to be passing through the town of Fairibuilt at 5 am in the morning when I happened to see a bunch of people and their vans gathered at an airport runway. There were even fires. I thought it was an odd place to be campling and so I decided to hang around and check it out. The next thing I know as the sun began to rise they began floating away.

This shoot was a great deal of fun. I had never seen air balloons up close before. They usually schedule these tours at sunrise because the air is still cool and provides maximum lift for an air heated balloon. The heaters they use to fire up are awesome. tcalbaz · 2007-06-08: 13:07
