During our sightseeing trip in Aruba we stopped by the Bushiribana Gold Smelter Ruins. The ruins were right by the water and they gave us a great view. There were many rocks stacked on top of each other around the ruins (we also saw this in other areas around the northern part of Aruba). I learned that this may have started as a custom by the Native Aruban Arawacks. You are supposed to stack the rocks, make a wish, and if the rocks are blown over by the waves, your wish will be granted.
