Or perhaps it is, that life as we know it provides us with too many distractions... I wonder often how the world would live if the clock were rolled 1,000 years back... Mind you, self-destruction seems to be attractive no matter the century. I like the shot a lot. The contrast and light work well, and I like the reflection in the glass top of the bench, and the settled dust - I think it would have worked well in landscape too :)
