The main reason I volunteered for this was because it involves something am passionate about but regret not pursuing it.Secondly, volunteers get to watch the shows for free and attend some of the workshops as well and are privileged to have some V.I.P tickets to some shows.
I was in charge of ticketing and of course I enjoyed the shows toroughly. However I did not take any pictures of the show because I was to
shy to ask about the policy on this.So for a change I really let my biological camera do the works and wonders for me.I loved the way the dancers used the space and also I never really did realise that lighting does play an important role during a performance.t gives the extra feel & character.
Today however,I was in charge of ticketing and was also taking turns to 'babysit' another theatre just behind
TransAlta Arts Barn. The reason was it is that this place is going unders some renovations and some of the entrance to this place is not secured. This theatre meanwhile acts as a reharsal space to dancers and perfomers alike and also a place for some warming up and a chillout area for volunteers.
As soon as I stepped in-It was like *WoW*..totally!!
My head was spinning by just thinking of the amount of pictures I can capture.
This theatre's called '
Catalyst'
Here are just a few of the
treasures I've managed to capture.
Will take a shot of the building on site some other day.
William Shakespeare -
All the world's a stage (from
As You Like It 2/7)
All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages. At first the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.
And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lined,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slipper'd pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side,
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.
