Petals of the White Rose

2009.03.04

A White Rose

THE red rose whispers of passion,
And the white rose breathes of love;
O, the red rose is a falcon,
And the white rose is a dove.

But I send you a cream-white rosebud
With a flush on its petal tips;
For the love that is purest and sweetest
Has a kiss of desire on the lips

~John Boyle O'Reilly~

(28 June 1844–10 August 1890); Irish-born poet and novelist

revenant What appealling roses they are and your choice of poem is very apposite. If I may, I would offer some advice: as another avid B&W fan (read your profile), I'd suggest you always expose for the darkest part of your image, especially as you dislike post-processing. You haven't asked for it, but I will voice a personal preference: frames detract from the image, IMO. I look forward to seeing more.
