Swallowtail

2008.06.15
It is the time of year for Swallowtail butterflies in Vermont.

Not a Swallowtail.

Also not a Swallowtail.

Ditto. All of these images were taken with a Pentax K100d Super and the Tamron 70 x 300 'faux macro' telephoto lens.

A few images from today. I suppose if I was asked, "why did I buy a DSLR" the answer would be "to chase butterflies around the field behind my condo."

Allegedly there was a bear in my condo complex (someone still had birdfeeders out) recently, now that is something I would like to get on camera. I've heard bears before (while camping, scary), seen bear tracks (outside my campsite, scary) and have even have caught a quick glimpse of bears on occasion (not so scary) but I've never had a chance to catch one on camera, preferably in its natural habitat.
